T H E L I G H T H O U S E
Nguyễn Đình Thảo Chi
He never asked to lead the way,
Or sought the sun or asked for praise.
He simply stood through night and day,
A steady light in all our haze.
When storms would rise and waves would roar,
We would look to him, that constant shore.
No words required, just calm and true,
His quiet strength would see us through.
Now his lamp has left the hill,
But in our hearts, it’s shining still.
A gentle beam that guides us home,
No matter where our ships may roam.
From far and wide, we came that day,
Each carried home by grief and grace.
He gathered us close, one final time
To love, laugh, and say goodbye.
He gave us peace inside the storm,
A light to keep our family warm.
The sea still moves, the wind still spins,
But we all know where home has been.
